"Diversity" is Racist

The leftist call for "diversity" is not just wrong, but downright racist

Jordan Peterson explains:

And Thomas Sowell:

In short, the differences between groups are not as great as the differences within groups. The belief that diversity in any context can be achieved merely by selecting people from different racial backgrounds, for example, can only stem from the assumption that all members of any given racial background are inevitably the same and are wholly distinct from the people of every other racial background.

Is this not a shamelessly racist assumption?

Salaams Sidi Mahdi

Which of Thomas Sowells books would you recommend for a someone new to his works?

Wa alaykum Assalaam wa Rahmatullah,

May Allah reward you.

I would highly recommend Intellectuals and Society:
https://www.amazon.com/Intellectuals-Society-Expanded-Thomas-Sowell/dp/0465025226

It's one of the major works of his later years and summarises a lot of his earlier books.

And there are plenty of articles and videos to enjoy. I have quite a few of the latter on this blog under the 'Economics' label.

JazakAllah khair I will read it and also go through those posts, in-sha-Allah.

If you think its beneficial and if you have time, can I recommend a blog post with a general recommended reading list for us. Or a series of reading lists by topic perhaps.

JazakAllah khair

And may Allah reward you. Please let me know what topics you are interested in.

I also have some lists in the the Guide for New Believers:

And insha'Allah I will be publishing a book soon with several books referenced.

And with Allah is every success.

I was thinking history. Islamic or general.

Thanks I'll look at the books mentioned in that post. What is the subject of your upcoming book?

For history, I would recommend the series by al-Hajj Abu Ja'far al-Hanbali: 13 Centuries of Islamic History, which is on the Reasons for Faith channel:

https://www.youtube.com/user/TheReasons4Faith/playlists?sort=dd&view=50&shelf_id=5

A lot of books are mentioned.

My book is basically advice for Muslim living in the Anglosphere, and it includes explanations of politics, culture, law etc.

And with Allah is every success.
