translated the relevant section from Imam Ibn Rajab Al-Ḥanbalī’s
Laṭāʾif Al-Maʿārif. Please have a read here.
As for the Shāfiʿī position, one can
refer to Reliance of the Traveller, section j2, p.291-293.
